ILIA was born and raised in Athens — the ancient city of glory and decay. After finishing school, she moved to London for her studies, where her musical journey began. Immersed in the underground scenes of South and East London, she collaborated with artists who push beyond conventional boundaries, while also stepping into the worlds of fashion and contemporary art.
Her path later took her to the United States, where she found herself in the heart of Los Angeles’ creative energy — working with acclaimed producers and wandering through streets that felt like they belonged in a David Lynch film. A self-discovery trip to the Joshua Tree desert awakened her need to reconnect with her roots. She returned to Athens carrying both the chaos and the clarity she had gathered along the way.
ILIA is a singer, producer, composer, and music-video director. She has performed at festivals across Europe and the U.S., creating immersive live sets that blur the line between concert and ritual.
Dubbed by the English press as the “Enfant Terrible” of the Mediterranean music scene, she has collaborated with some of the industry’s most recognized names — including Golden Globe nominee Daniel Heath (Lana Del Rey), Grammy nominee Billy Mann (Robyn, John Legend, Celine Dion), and Chris Bolden (En Vogue), among others.
Praised for her “transcendent stage presence” (Greek Reporter LA), ILIA has opened shows for artists such as Katy B, Florence and the Machine, Orbital, Schiller, Marina and the Diamonds, Muse, and Thievery Corporation.
Her work has been featured in outlets such as Spiegel, Musik Express, Spin, Rolling Stone India, XS Noize, Esquire, Vogue, Popjustice, and Earmilk. Her songs have aired on the iconic BBC Radio 1, and her artistic vision continues to expand across genres and continents.
ILIA is the voice of “Irida,” the latest release by Stereo Nova, with performances at Release and Reworks Festival.
In 2025, she will release her first soundtrack, for Konstantinos Menelaou’s feature film “FEMALE”, nominated at the Film Forward section at the Thessaloniki Festival — as well as her second solo album, created with her long-time collaborator and one of Greece’s most important electronic-music composers, Mikael Delta.
" Ilia performs on stage as if the Panda Theater was the Hollywood Bowl. That is how one should do it." Musikexpress - Pop-Kultur Berlin
“Ilia has perfected a performative style like no other in the music industry…she gradually shed her layers as she shuffled into a hypnotic and futuristic goth-pop that took a mystical turn with the use of the traditional organ of santour, creating a perfectly orchestrated musical chaos.”
